Tuna Celery Crunch
Serve this over rice or noodles.
(Put the rice or noodles on to cook before you start preparing this dish.) You can have this one on the table in 20 minutes!
3 Tbsp/45 mL butter
3 cups/750 mL chopped celery
3 Tbsp/45 mL flour
1/2 tsp/2 mL salt
2 cups/500 mL milk
1 cup/250 mL grated cheese
2 cans (each 7 oz/198 g) tuna, drained
In a saucepan, melt the butter. Add the celery. Saute until bright green but still crisp.
Add the flour and salt to the saucepan. Stir.
Gradually stir the milk into the saucepan, stirring.
Cook over medium heat, stirring, until the sauce comes to a boil and thickens.
Add the cheese and tuna to the saucepan. Cook, stirring, until heated through.
Maple Pork Chops
This recipe makes lots of tasty sauce that is delicious on mashed potatoes or rice. If you aren't fortunate to be able to get (or afford!) maple syrup where you live, please do not substitute pancake syrup or other ';table syrups';. Try using liquid honey in place of the maple syrup.
6 thick pork chops
1/2 cup/125 mL chopped onion
1/2 cup/125 mL maple syrup
2 Tbsp/30 mL cider vinegar
2 Tbsp/30 mL Worchestershire sauce
1 tsp/5 mL chili powder
1/2 tsp/2 mL salt
1/4 tsp/1 mL pepper
Place the pork chops in a baking pan or baking dish.
Combine the remaining ingredients. Pour over pork chops.
Bake for about an hour, until no longer pink inside.

My sons love this chicken and I either serve it with rice or pasta, because one doesn't really like meat and can just put the yummy gravy over the rice/pasta.
6 to 8 thighs (or 6 breasts)
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1 cup of chicken broth
2 cups of sour cream
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
Pepper
I also put mushrooms and a chopped onion in mine, but that could be optional.
Put the chicken in the bottom of a casserole dish, combine all the other ingredients and then pour over the top of the chicken. Bake uncovered at 350 for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
I just serve this with the rice or pasta, green beans or peas, and cornbread or biscuits.
I have kids cook books with some pretty intresting ingredience. Everyone these days is sugesting you have you children try new things. You can look at a recipe at Allrecipe.com or what ever sites you already have and work with your mom and tweek the recipe.
Or chop things up so small the kids won't know they are in there. Or even better. Get the kids involed. I am a teacher. I get the kids to eat food they would never eat, because I get them to cook the foods as a cooking project. Sure it may take longer but you will be amazed.
Even the very little ones can help stiring, in the highchair.
