Can you share some simple and delicious smoothie recipes?

Al's Genuine Good-Time Tripe Smoothie





3 pounds tripe


3 pounds nixtamal (hominy) frozen, not canned


3 pounds pigs feet (not calves) cut into quarters


1 large onion diced


1 bunch green onion cut up in 1/4'; pieces


1 bunch of cilantro chopped


2 tablespoons Oregano


1 tablespoon black pepper


1 tablespoon red pepper flakes


1 head of garlic


2 tablespoons salt





Wash tripe thoroughly, remove excess fat and cut into bite sized pieces, wash nixtamal and pigs feet well and combine all ingredient in a large pot with enough water to cover. Bring to a boil and simmer slowly until corn opens and is cooked (not overcooked). Skim off grease. It is best if you can refrigerate it in order to remove all grease.





Serve with fresh cilantro, chopped green onion, chiltepin, limon and toasted bolillos.Can you share some simple and delicious smoothie recipes?

Ok Smile, (you know that's something you should do, often.) you want any kind? Here's one (and I might have more some where.): Pumpkin





1/2 cup canned pumpkin


3/4 cup vanilla yogurt


1/4 tsp cinnamon


1/8 tsp nutmeg


2 ts brown sugar


4 ice cubes





I suggest you double the recipe!





Combine all ingredients, in the blender and puree until smooth. Pour into small glasses and garnish with vanilla yogurt, whiped cream or French Vanilla Cool Whip. For an extra fun toouch, ad some colorful sprinkles, like youwould to sundae at the buffet or a pinch more cinnamon. serves approimately 1 1/2 to 2.

Here's one of my favorites- Put into blender-


1 cup orange juice


1/2 cup frozen strawberries


1/2 cup frozen blueberries


1 frozen banana, cut into chunks


Optional- add 1/2 cup vanilla or other flavored yogurt


Blend and enjoy!





One thing to keep in mind when making smoothies is to always add liquid, and use frozen fruits for the best texture of the finished product. Experiment with all sorts of fruits- all berries work really well, and different juices are good too. For added protein, you can add a scoop of protein powder, too. I also like to add a scoop of wheat germ or shredded coconut for different texture. Yum!

Honeydew-Kiwifruit Smoothie





Ingredients


2 cups cubed honeydew


1 small Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored, and cut up


1 kiwifruit, peeled and cut up


3 to 4 tablespoons sugar


1 tablespoon lime juice


1 cup ice cubes


Fresh kiwifruit slices (optional)





Directions





In a blender container, combine honeydew, apple, kiwifruit, sugar, and lime juice.





Cover and blend until smooth.





Add ice cubes; cover and blend until cubes are crushed and mixture is slushy.





Pour into glasses and garnish with kiwifruit slices.





Makes 2 (10-ounce) servings.
Triple Threat Fruit Smoothie





INGREDIENTS:


1 kiwi, sliced


1 banana, peeled and chopped


1/2 cup blueberries


1 cup strawberries


1 cup ice cubes


1/2 cup orange juice


1 (8 ounce) container peach yogurt





DIRECTIONS:


In a blender, blend the kiwi, banana, blueberries, strawberries, ice, orange juice, and yogurt until smooth.











Lemon Berry Smoothie





INGREDIENTS:


1 (8 ounce) container blueberry nonfat yogurt


1 1/2 cups skim milk


1 cup ice cubes


1 cup fresh blueberries


1 cup fresh strawberries


1 teaspoon powdered lemonade mix





DIRECTIONS:


Place yogurt, milk, ice cubes, blueberries, strawberries, and lemonade mix in a blender. Pulse until smooth and creamy.











Kiwi Strawberry Smoothie





INGREDIENTS:


1 banana


6 strawberries


1 kiwi


1/2 cup vanilla frozen yogurt


3/4 cup pineapple and orange juice blend





DIRECTIONS:


Place the banana, strawberries, kiwi, vanilla frozen yogurt, and pineapple and orange juice blend in a blender. Blend until smooth.











Chocolate Covered Blueberry Smoothie





INGREDIENTS:


1 cup skim milk


1 cup frozen blueberries


1 (1 ounce) envelope instant hot chocolate mix


1 tablespoon chocolate syrup





DIRECTIONS:


Pour the milk, blueberries, hot cocoa mix, and chocolate syrup into the container of a blender. Blend to desired consistency, and pour into a tall glass.











Vodka Smoothie





INGREDIENTS:


6 fluid ounces vodka


18 fluid ounces orange juice


1 cup frozen strawberries


4 scoops orange sherbet


1 cup crushed ice





DIRECTIONS:


In a blender, mix the vodka, orange juice, strawberries, orange sherbet, and ice. Blend until smooth.











Banana Fruit Smoothie





INGREDIENTS:


1 cup pineapple juice


3 bananas, sliced


1 tablespoon honey


2 cups ice





DIRECTIONS:


In a blender, combine pineapple juice, bananas, honey and ice. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.











Melon Smoothie





INGREDIENTS:


1/4 cantaloupe - peeled, seeded and cubed


1/4 honeydew melon - peeled, seeded and cubed


1 lime, juiced


2 tablespoons sugar





DIRECTIONS:


In a blender, combine cantaloupe, honeydew, lime juice and sugar. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.











Peach Smoothie





INGREDIENTS:


1 (15 ounce) can sliced peaches, drained


4 scoops vanilla ice cream


2 cups vanilla soy milk


1/4 cup orange juice





DIRECTIONS:


In a blender, combine peaches, ice cream, soy milk and orange juice. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
