I am looking for a cookbook with delicious recipes with a little bit of everything!?

My best friend and I decided to get together once a month and cook. I will admit we are not very good at cooking. Besides having fun, we will learn how to make some good food!I am looking for a cookbook with delicious recipes with a little bit of everything!?
There are many cookbooks out there that will help you, I have a good collection of cook books and a good rule of thumb is don't buy it unless you can get at least 3 good recipes from it, The public library is also a good place to look. The Joy of Cooking is a classic. I like professional restaurant cookbooks. I like The Chez Painesse Cafe cookbook, by Alice Walters. Two other ones I recommend and are well written are A Field of Greens, or Everyday Greens by Anne Summerville. They all use fresh ingredients and take time to explain the proper techniques to use to make it perfect. The key is to have fun with good friends and good food will follow. I love Margarete Fox's Morning Food its the best Breakfast cookbook to start with. Enjoy the funI am looking for a cookbook with delicious recipes with a little bit of everything!?
If you want any kind of recipe go to allrecipes.com. They probably have a cookbook you can buy. I always go there for different things and I'm always pleased. Also you can go to bookstores and get neat little paperback recipe books for a couple of dollars. Happy Eating!!!!!
The best cookbook to get is ';The Joy of Cooking';

It has a little bit of everything, and includes preparation techniques, food history, and helpful advice.

I swear by it.
I suggest looking at recipes at allrecipes.com. They have over 40,000 recipes which unless you have one heck of a lot of counter space, is easier to look at there than in a cookbook!
For easy to prepare meal go to kraftfood.com and sign up for the quartely mailing that they send out. They will send you a magazine that has a ton of easy recipes to put together that still have that home cooked satisfied feeling. You can also go to the website and look up recipes from past issues. Another place to go to would be foodnetwork.com and look up Racheal Ray's 30 minute meals. Her recipes are very simple and me being an experience cook I take about 45 minutes to prepare but then I don't have all of the stuff prepares the way that she does. But they are simple to do and a good place to start if you are just starting out in the kitchen. Also you may want to catch a few of the other shows so that you can learn techniques as well. Good Luck
Joy of Cooking and the Fannie Farmer cookbook are the classics. You may want to check some books out at the library before deciding on a purchase. I've got tons of cookbooks, but lately have been hitting the internet sites. They often have pics, and sometimes even videos.
